How many contractor quotes should I get?
Three is the usual advice for any significant job, and it's good advice: one quote tells you nothing, two tell you there's a range, three start to show you the market. Blueprint keeps them comparable by putting them on the same project.
How does the DIY vs hire comparison work?
The AI plan estimates what the project costs to do yourself, and the quotes show what hiring it out costs. The gap between them is the real price of your time and the contractor's expertise, and seeing it as a number makes the call much easier.
Can I judge whether a quote is fair?
You can judge it against something real. A quote far above the estimate and the other bids deserves questions; one far below deserves suspicion. The estimate keeps you from anchoring on whichever number arrived first.
