Contractor Quote Tracking
Line up the quotes against a real cost estimate and decide DIY or hire with numbers.
Three contractors, three quotes, three different scopes, and no idea what the job should cost. Blueprint logs every quote side by side against the AI cost estimate for the same project, so you can see who's high, who's low, and whether doing it yourself is worth the weekends. The DIY-or-hire decision stops being a gut call.

Why it matters
Every quote in one place
Log each contractor's quote against the project it belongs to. No more scrolling texts and email threads to remember who quoted what for the fence.
A baseline that isn't a guess
The AI plan's cost estimate tells you roughly what the job costs in materials and effort. Quotes stop being judged against each other and start being judged against the job.
DIY or hire, decided with numbers
With the DIY estimate and the quotes on the same screen, the premium you'd pay to not spend your weekends on it is a visible number. Sometimes it's worth it. Now you know when.
Quotes that stay with the record
Quotes live on the project, and the project lives on the property. Two years later you still know what the roof work was quoted at and what you actually did.
How it works
- 01
Start with the estimate
Create the project and let Blueprint's AI draft the plan with a cost estimate. That estimate is your anchor before the first contractor walks through the door.
- 02
Log the quotes
As quotes come in, add each one to the project. They line up side by side, against each other and against the estimate.
- 03
Decide and go
Hire the contractor whose number and scope hold up, or take the DIY path with the plan already written and the materials already listed.
Contractor quotes FAQ
How many contractor quotes should I get?
Three is the usual advice for any significant job, and it's good advice: one quote tells you nothing, two tell you there's a range, three start to show you the market. Blueprint keeps them comparable by putting them on the same project.
How does the DIY vs hire comparison work?
The AI plan estimates what the project costs to do yourself, and the quotes show what hiring it out costs. The gap between them is the real price of your time and the contractor's expertise, and seeing it as a number makes the call much easier.
Can I judge whether a quote is fair?
You can judge it against something real. A quote far above the estimate and the other bids deserves questions; one far below deserves suspicion. The estimate keeps you from anchoring on whichever number arrived first.
Is quote tracking included in the plan?
Yes. Contractor quote tracking is part of Blueprint Pro at $7.99 a month or $49.99 a year, along with unlimited projects and the AI planner that produces the estimates you compare against.
